Fall Nature Offering To Celebrate Abundance – DIY Bird Feeder For The Autumn Equinox

DIY Nature Offering Wildlife Feeder For The Autumn Equinox

Let’s make this DIY wildlife feeder for autumn out of upcycled cans!

During the fall when the days are growing shorter and colder, it’s the perfect time to lean into gratitude for the “harvest.”

The “harvest” can be literal, in the sense of harvesting autumn crops… As well as harvesting the metaphorical “seeds” we’ve sown with our intentions earlier in the year.

This is the time of year when humans and animals alike are preparing for the harsher days of winter by collecting what we will need in order to enjoy comfort and stability during the dark half of the year. Birds and squirrels are out gathering food for their stash, so what better way to honor nature than to share of our abundance with our ferril friends?

In this tutorial video, I’ll show you how I upcycled scrap materials to make a whimsical little wildlife feeder for my garden. If you’d like to follow along, you will need:

  • 1 soup or vegetable can (you know, the tall tin cans lol!)
  • 1 tuna or cat food can (the short cans)
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Durable ribbons or fabric (I chose autumn inspired colors)
  • Sissors
  • Objects to hang from the dangling ribbons (optional)

Have fun!
