Things I Wish I Knew When Starting My Green Witch Journey (Podcast 179)

Have you been inspired to start leaning into the “green witchy” side of things, but gotten overwhelmed by where to start, or felt perfectionism or imposter syndrome creeping in?

While I consider “green witch” one of my titles along my path now, I’ll admit that I hesitated to do so in the past…

In fact, it was just a few years ago that I said to someone, “I’m not much of a green witch.” But looking back on that time now, that statement wasn’t even really true!

I’ve ALWAYS felt my strongest spiritual connection when communing with nature, and have even been working with plants on my path from the very beginning.

The reason I didn’t think I was allowed to call myself a green witch was because I wasn’t SUPER well versed in all of the “traditional” magickal and medicinal uses for plants, and mainly connected with them in a more free-flowing, intuitive way…

Which, I realize now, was totally valid, especially since I wasn’t giving medical advice to others or doing anything unsafe in my own practice. Well, shortly after realizing I didn’t want to feel like I was neglecting my green witchy side anymore, I leaned into learning as much about plants as possible – Both by doing research AND by allowing myself to go about things my own way.

And now, two years later, I’ve gained a lot of insight – not just about a wide variety of herbs and their uses, but also about ways we can connect with plants that go beyond the typical expectations floating around in the witchy sphere.

I invite you to join me for this video, where I’m sharing some of my biggest takeaways from just my first year of diving fully into foraging and herb lore, and some of the myths I debunked about it:
